Is your kitchen gluten-free?

As you may have read on our About Us page, our head baker's mom was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2015. Our dream is to use a certified gluten-free facility, but we're a small-scale operation right now operating out of a home kitchen. Like many households with loved ones who have been diagnosed with celiac, we've learned to accommodate different dietary needs and striven to keep everything as safe as possible. We want to be transparent and honest, and our home does at one point or another see all major allergens (including gluten).  That said, we take our commitment to making delicious celiac-friendly treats very seriously. We even use dedicated gluten-free baking equipment, including our oven!

What does celiac-friendly mean to us? It means we know that if something is "naturally gluten-free" but "processed in the same facility as wheat," then it's a no-go. It means that we regularly double-check ingredient labels in case manufacturers update them. It  means that we would never sell anything we wouldn't feel 100% comfortable giving to Dana's mom, who deserves the world but at the very least some peace of mind when enjoying food.

We want everyone to feel comfortable making an informed decision about what they eat, so we completely understand if you'd prefer to seek out other options. If you're considering us but would like to know more about our protocols to help avoid cross-contamination with gluten, then please  don't hesitate to reach out.

I don't see a particular flavor offered. Does that mean you don't make it?

We love experimenting with new ideas and are happy to customize a set of brownies or blondies for you. Assuming we can get our hands on the (gluten-free) ingredients we'd need, then we're absolutely game for trying a new recipe. Speaking of which, we're always testing out treats in the kitchen, so check our website regularly for new listings. You might even see what you were looking for! Or let's say you want the topping from of our desserts with the base of another (e.g., the crumble from our Blueberry Streusel blondies on top of the pumpkin blondies for our Jack-O'-Lanterns)—we're definitely able to accommodate that.

Whether it's a brand-new treat you're after or a combination of what we already offer, please use our contact form or email us to inquire about a custom order.

How can I get my treats? Do you ship?

Once you've decided on the treat(s) you'd like to order, please send us a message or email us to schedule a date for pickup; please do not place an order on this website until you've done so. After we've ironed out pickup details, you can add the treats to your cart. We're a small-scale operation dedicated to maintaining high standards for all of our customers, so we ask that you please be patient as we smooth out any wrinkles. At this time, between scheduling and ingredient availability, it's advisable to order at least several weeks in advance.

Right now, we're only able to offer pickup in the Milton and Williston areas. We can potentially deliver locally for an added fee, if we can coordinate a time and location that work for everyone.

What are your treats like? What is your specialty?

We focus on delectable gluten-free brownie and blondie bars that you can't get anywhere else; all of our recipes are original and from scratch. The brownie and blondie world is pretty firmly divided between "cakey" and "fudgy," and our bars are no exception: If you're looking for rich, gooey desserts, then we've got your back. And when it comes to taste, we're not too fond of the artificial flavor that accompanies many extracts and prefer to use different forms of real fruits (and even vegetables!) to impart deliciousness whenever possible.

Since we began baking gluten-free over a decade ago, we've noticed that there isn't much variety out there for people with celiac—even in general for those with a sweet tooth, most of what's commercially available felt generic. Maya Angelou famously said, "If there is a book that you want to read but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." There were so many desserts we wanted to taste unique themes that we never saw, so we finally decided to make them ourselves! You'll see a bunch of interesting or out-there desserts that we offer, and we hope you enjoy our creations, too. (While we have a lot of one-of-a-kind bars, we can still whip up a  batch of  good old-fashioned brownies for you as well.)

I'm interested in a flavor you offer, but I don't want to buy a whole batch. Can I try just one brownie or blondie?

Since we're just starting out, it's not feasible at the moment to accommodate orders of individual bars. As we learn and grow, we'd love to incorporate the option. In the meantime, we'll update this website with any opportunities to see us at farmers markets (where we'll be sure to have an array of single-serve treats).

As a side note, in our experience, our blondie and brownie bases freeze super well!
